Ligue 1 (4th day) - Eliesse Ben Seghir, AJ Auxerre in its history

The young nugget Eliesse Ben Seghir continues to shine in Ligue 1

At only 17 years old, Eliesse Ben Seghir is one of the great hopes of French football. The young striker, trained at OGC Nice, made a thunderous start to the season with AJ Auxerre.

During the 4th day of Ligue 1, Ben Seghir scored his 3rd goal of the season against Montpellier. A goal that allowed his team to snatch a precious draw (2-2) at the Mosson stadium.

AJ Auxerre is back in history thanks to its young talent

Thanks to this new goal, Eliesse Ben Seghir has entered the history of AJ Auxerre. He became the youngest player to score 3 goals in his first 4 Ligue 1 matches, breaking the previous record held by Karim Benzema.

This performance is all the more remarkable as AJ Auxerre had not had a player score 3 goals in his first 4 Ligue 1 matches for 34 years. The last player to do so was Stéphane Guivarc'h in 1988.

Eliesse Ben Seghir, a future great of French football?

Eliesse Ben Seghir's performances have not gone unnoticed. The young striker has already been called up to the France U18 team and is being closely watched by several big European clubs.

If he continues to progress at this rate, there is no doubt that Eliesse Ben Seghir will become one of the best French players of his generation. His talent, his precocity and his determination are all assets that could allow him to reach the highest level.
